The building housing Cologne's municipal archives has collapsed, putting at risk an extensive collection of material relating to Offenbach.

The Jacques Offenbach Society was formed in 1996 with the object of bringing Offenbach's music back into the public awareness.

Offenbach was a prolific composer and wrote around 100 works for the stage. Only a fraction of these are heard or performed today, despite the worldwide popularity of Offenbach's music during his lifetime.

We are a small international Society and we welcome new enthusiasts to join us in promoting Offenbach's vast repertoire to a wider audience.
